- What does a dog cognition assessment actually measure?
- It measures how your dog solves problems: memory, empathy or social attention, communication, cunning, and reasoning. These are strategies rather than an IQ ranking, which is why two dogs with very different scores can both be excellent companions and need very different training approaches.
- Are some dog breeds smarter than others?
- Breeds differ in what they were selected to do, not in overall intelligence.
